The installed version of curl has a bug that makes it hard to compile one’s own versions of certain crawlers on the ES. We will send out a new version to resolve this at the end of the week.
This update should be considered low risk. We will use the official Fedora packages build by Red Hat so we don’t anticipates any compatibility issues with existing operating system packages. The ES software currently doesn’t use this curl libraries ether.
Anyone wanting to test this in advanced may do so by:
* Download the files http://www2.searchdaimon.com/closed/FedoraRepository/boitho/updates/8/x86_64/curl-7.18.2-7.fc8.i386.rpm and http://www2.searchdaimon.com/closed/FedoraRepository/boitho/updates/8/x86_64/curl-7.18.2-7.fc8.x86_64.rpm .
* Then go to Software updates->Advanced in the admin panel and install the rpms.
