I distilled and updated the browser info (so you can click on files to open) from this forum into:
Installation needed to use SearchDaimon:
All users must add the following to Internet Explorer
(Even if you do not use IE as your browser):
Click Settings (gear icon); Internet Options; Security: Trusted Sites; Sites;
(If box is checked to “require server verification”, uncheck it)
in the ADD box type; xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx and click ADD (your server address not XXX!)
in the ADD box type; http://search.example .local and click ADD (your address not example!)
click CLOSE; click OK.
To open files with Chrome you must install an extension named LocalLinks:
Go To: https://chrome.google.com/webstore/detail/jllpkdkcdjndhggodimiphkghogcpida
Click; ADD TO CHROME
Some items will now open directly, others will download to bottom bar and must be clicked again.
To open files with Firefox you must:
Install Add-On “Launchy” to Firefox;
Tools: Add-Ons: Get Add-Ons
Search for Launchy, Install and restart Firefox.
When running SearchDaimon RIGHT click and choose
Launchy: Browse Link in Explorer to open document.
Note: You can also install NoScript in Firefox and checkmark the Allow Local Links option if you want NoScript functionality.
